As many of you may know we first opened our doors at the end of July, however we chose to wait until September to officially launch to allow ourselves time to settle in. Fast forward to last Wednesday, when we welcomed over 110 people through our doors, to see how we had transformed the former council offices into a funky and practical office space for those working in the creative and tech industries here in Bath. Luckily we had one or two of our members on hand to tell people how they’ve found the space so far.

In attendance were representatives from all of our sponsors: Bath Spa University, Bath & North East Somerset Council, Mogers Solicitors and Gradwell Communications Ltd, as well as local Bath business owners, The Bath Chronicle, Bath Life, SW Insider, VIPs and all of our members.

Guests were allowed to explore the Guild freely, as well as lots of lovely cakes and drinks the evening also featured two live drawing sessions by Simon Spilsbury which were very humorous during the speeches*. We were also able to feature images of the space before and during the redevelopment phase, and video interviews with Richard Wyatt and BathonTV plus some promotional videos we had produced prior to launch throughout the hub.

Our launch also coincided with the our new light installation, the Light Ladder going live, this installation was the result of a collaboration between ourselves, Splash Content, MUD and Luke Woodbury. The light ladder features 92 150 year old bottles which can be lit up to show the height of any location in Bath.

It’s such a relief to finally have officially opened, as it means we can get our heads down to focus on the important task of what we want to achieve here…and be more awesome of course!

*Speeches were given by Tom, Cllr Cherry Beath and Leader of the Council Paul Crossley
